china trip: our last day and thank you

our sleeping beauty

Just one final post from China. The suitcases are packed and Lilah is currently napping. We are hopeful there will be lots more of that on the long flight home!

I just want to thank you for all for your comments and emails. It has been so nice to wake up every morning and read them. We really really appreciate your incredible support and kindness towards us.

We also want to thank all those who organized our trip and made it possible for our family to be together and home for Christmas; especially our agency, Children's Bridge (Cathy & Brenda), our guides (Maggie, Lili & Coco) and taxi drivers. It was perfectly organized from start to finish and it really made our time here very enjoyable. Thanks so much.

Lastly, but in no way least, we want to thank the People's Republic of China for entrusting us with one of their precious children, our daughter, we will forever be grateful. Our hearts are bursting with love for her, she is our little miracle, all we ever dreamed of and more.

We have a great God, to Him be all the glory.

  3. Jill,
I can not think of a better gift from God at this very special time! I know what that feels like to have your prayers answered above and beyond what you could ever imagine! It is truly overwhelming. You will continue to look at her daily and praise Him for his faithfulness! I will be praying for a smooth transition (and lots of sleep) when you get home!

    Merry Christmas!

  4. I know exactly how you feel about leaving China -- what a bittersweet time.

You'll go back someday. And Lilah will be able to see the country where she might have grown up if circumstances had been different for her biological family. And she will always have a soft, special place in heart for China, because you will put it there, as you talk about the beautiful country she in which was born and your travels there, the amazing things you saw and how much you wish you'd had more time to see more deeply and experience it. You'll tell her about the lovely people you met there, and the incredible architecture and works of art, the grandeur of the Great Wall and the delicate hand embroidery you saw. And you'll play the music of China, and dress her up in Chinese silk dresses a couple of times a year as you meet with other families with children from China, and China will be as much a part of your lives as being Canadian is...

You'll go back someday...China has a piece of your heart now, and it will be with you forever.

God speed on your journey, friends. I have loved following your journey, watching another precious YangDong girl coming home.
