Lilah got a new pair of frames at the dollar store today and I got a new lens for my camera - obviously not from the dollar store! My sweet hubby gave me a gift card at Christmas for a local photography store and I finally made up my mind what I wanted to buy.
The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 ll.
I was told this is a great indoor lens and I've only had it a few hours, but it is definitely proving to be exactly that - I'm very pleased with the results and I haven't even got right started yet! I love how sharp it is on the focal point, yet how soft and dreamy the rest of the image is. As with any lens, I have so much to learn yet. I'm very excited to try it out in the sunlight - I can imagine the bokeh lover in me is going to be ecstatic! Between tonight and tomorrow we are supposed to get another 15-20cms of snow, so I'm looking forward to putting it to the test outdoors!
I shot a few pictures of Lilah wearing her new frames today. She is cuteness personified.
Lilah has so much personality that just shines through your pictures....she's too cute in her glasses. I would love to buy a new lens but I don't know alot about photography yet however I so want to learn. I am trying to figure out how to blur the background right now. When you snap your pictures do you sit on the floor, on a chair or just stand...I have to figure out the best angles too....so much to learn:)
ReplyDeletesuper duper cute in those frames! I heard you are getting 20 centimeters! It has been awful here today. Went nasty snow.

I want one too!! I am torn between the 1.4 and the 1.8?! Not that I am getting either one!
ReplyDeleteYou and Paige put me to shame with all of your beautiful photos. I have the feeling my point and shoot Cannon is not cutting the mustard anymore.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the glasses, they provide a very "academic meets librarian" look for Miss Lilah.
Love these photos. That new lens is awesome, but then so is the photographer...and of course the subject.
ReplyDeleteGin =)
She is that! I love the new glasses, nothing wrong with having a few different pairs!
ReplyDeleteI love this lens for portraits. You will use it a lot!
Just hopped back from my DH's blog that you posted on. Thankyou for the find words, And oh my goodness! Your daughter and those glasses are absolutely adorable! You most be so proud.
