We went strawberry picking today. You might not believe this, but it's our first time! And Lilah? Had to be peeled off the ceiling, because she was just so over-the-moon excited.
It was a blistering hot day. Probably not the best choice as far as the weather goes, but such is life. We did go into the shade a few times, however we were quickly chased back out into the sunshine by those horrid little mosquitoes! They're like me, they like the shade better than the sun!
Anyway, heat and all we had a fantastic time gathering strawberries. I'm glad there were no 'human' weigh in and outs, otherwise Lilah may have cost me more than the 2 litre basket we picked!
It certainly won't be the last time we're back!
Hands down my favourite fruit of all time....and Gracie's. She calls strawberries apples, but then she calls all fruit and veg apples!! Off to N Ireland tomorrow.... a few days on the Antrim Coast. Will say "hi" from you :-)
ReplyDeleteI haven't done strawberry picking for years... but I still remember how much better they tasted than store bought.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun work!
We missed the boat this year with the strawberries and I was so disappointed.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you have a perfect picker there.....and a very cute one I might add!!
I had to laugh when you said good thing there was no human weigh ins.....we said the same thing when we went berry picking a few weeks ago too. Reagan would have tipped the scales from all the blueberries she ate:)
Great photos of your day!
Have a wonderful week~
xoxo,
Lisa

What a fabulous idea!! I swear, I am too overwhelmed most days to think of getting strawberries anywhere than the grocery store :-)
ReplyDeleteAdorable Lilah in the strawberry patch! How fun! Okay, now I'm hungry after reading this post.
ReplyDeleteI love Lilah's outfit!
