"i'm so thirst-night"

Driving home from Bible Study last night:

Lilah: "Mama, I'm so thirst-night."
Me: "Huh?"
Lilah: "I'm thirst-night."
Me: "I don't know what you're saying sweetie. Say it again?"
Lilah: Looks at me, grins and says... "I'm just Thirst-day Mama!"

Who knew you could be thirst-day or thirst-night depending on whether it's light or dark outside! She's given the word 'thirsty' a whole new concept now.

Our Lilah girl got her first wasp sting yesterday while out playing in her little paddling pool. First I saw her pick up an ant and squash it with her fingers. A few minutes later she came over to me and said "Ouch, the fly hurt me". I hadn't seen what happened, so it took me a minute or two to get out of her that the 'fly' was yellow and black and it was walking on her plate with the cherries. It seems she thought she could pick the wasp up and squash it too. Within a few minutes the top part of her middle finger started to swell until the skin was really tight. I brought her inside, ran it under cold water, put some ice on it and then when I saw she wasn't having any allergic reactions, gave her some ibuprofen. Later on she woke from her nap and told me "It's all better again", sure enough the swelling had gone down. Poor girly - I don't think she'll be taking on any more wasps.

My beautiful smart funny little sweetheart! I love her so.

  1. adorable story!

    I guess right now I am thrist-day!

  2. She really is smart!! And pretty darn cute too! =)

  3. oh, the things they say...and we trying to keep up...their thinking never surprises honest and right!

  4. Wow, when I was stung as a kid I was screaming. You have one tough (and cute) cookie.

  5. Sometimes it is so hard to figure out what they are saying and yet to them it is so important!

    Love the photos!

  6. Lilah amazes me! She is as smart and as tough as she is cute!

  7. that was a bit scary :) we've only had one bee sting between all four of ours - wait, we don't know why Tia had a red swelling spot on her foot the other day . . . oh my - I'm glad Lilah is a ok! and breathtakingly beautiful. seriously she is one of the most beautiful little girls I have ever seen. besides my two OF COURSE. :)

  8. She seems like a very curious little girl. Beautiful pictures as always.
