a game of "hide and peek"

fun evening at the park

I took the photo above on Wednesday evening past and it is my new favourite!

We went for a walk/trike down to the park and after swinging, Lilah and I played the game, hide & seek. Or as Lilah calls it, "Hide & Peek"! Her wording is very accurate too, because as I count to 10, she hides and then peeks around the tree at me, and she thinks it's the funniest thing ever, especially when I put on my silly voice and say "Hey you rascal, no peeking!" We sure have fun.

Also, I had no plans whatsoever of letting Lilah go to the splash pad, since like I said, it was the evening time. But there were two other children there having such a fun time and Lilah wanted to join them. So off came the dress. Oh well, you're only young once, right? And then you live the rest of your life wishing and pretending to be young!

  1. I love these - the "hide and peek" top photo is adorable! My other fave is the second to last one - her expression, and the frozen water are very cute! Your Lilah definitely lives life to the full - what a fun girl she is!

  2. You just gave me a great idea so I can take pics of my son. He learned to not smile or put his hand in his face when I ask him for a picture.

Lilah is so happy and yes, you are young only once. When are we going to hear you are going for #2?

  3. #2 would be wonderful Lilly!

And I don't say that lightly, because for as long as I can remember I only ever wanted one child. But now I realize that Lilah is my life and being a mum is such a gift. The joy I feel is like no other. Indeed, I would be thrilled to be a mum again!

  4. I think I have commented about this before on your blog, but I'll say it again. It is such a joy to read about how you take pleasure in all of the little things with Lilah. It makes me stop and remember to play hide and "peek" with my Lily even though she is #3 and sometimes I feel as if I've played the game a million times. Thank you for those reminders! Off to play tea time with Lily!

  5. You do have a lot of fun with that girl of yours! The spray park looks like fun and the pictures of great. I love candid shots the most!

By the way, I think a #2 would be pretty awesome for you too!

  7. Just wait till my Mum gets wind of all this #2 talk! ;) She'll jump right onto this bandwagon! In fact, 'and Lily makes three', my Mum totally talked me into 3 being the perfect # when I was home at Christmas.

And yesterday, Lilah actually commented to me that she really wants to be a big sister soon...but still my baby girl! She will ALWAYS be my baby girl, that's for sure. And I have no doubt in my mind that she will be a super wonderful big sister.

I believe in His perfect timing.
