triking along

Well, my girl is still loving triking. Did I mention our back neighbour (Frank) gave her this trike last summer? Yes he did, and from memory he retrieved it from another neighbours garbage, but for Lilah, it's a real treasure. That being said, we debated getting her a trike for her birthday and since she wasn't showing any interest in pedaling and I couldn't find the 'perfect one' on time, we decided against it. However, Lilah's Auntie Lorraine and cousins Jemma & Laura (from Australia) sent her money for her birthday and what did I go ahead and order? You guessed it, a sweet little radio flyer lights and sounds trike. Unfortunately it's only available in the US so I ordered it through a store here in Canada and now we have to wait 4-6 weeks before we get it. I can't wait and I know Lilah will just love it. I did the colour choosing too, red over pink. She might never forgive me, if she knew any better that is!

Here's a few pictures from our outing to Tim Horton's this morning - we also swung by the doggy wall mural on the way home. Our little trikster has pretty much mastered the steering already and oh dear me, she loves to speed! At one stage her legs just couldn't keep up with the pedals and she had to lift them off. She threw her head back and couldn't stop laughing. It's kinda scary how much our (supposedly) timid little girl was loving the speed! I'm thinking that maybe she should be wearing a bike helmet from here on.

  1. Lilah, in front of that mural is amazing! How graphic! I would put her in a helmet just to get her used to wearing it!

  2. I wear the helmet on her when she's behind me on my bike, but I never thought of wearing it on her for the trike. I guess it would be best for habit forming - good idea Paige.

  3. I love your neighbourhood, so cool! Avery used to wear her helmet on the trike. I probably would not have thought of it, but our doctor mentioned it at one of her appts (before she was even riding it). Brennyn isn't interested in Avery's trike so we haven't even bought her a helmet yet.
