Piggy and di-e are just about a year old now. A year has passed since Lilah well and truly attached herself to both of them. Remember back to this post? She had three stuffed toys, but none of them were particularly special, she just kinda liked them all. But Piggy, he got singled out of that crowd and became her constant companion, in fact I would consider him to be one of the loves of her life. When she tells Colin and I she loves us, she always adds on, "And Piggy too". She also told me today, "He's my friend Mama. He's my baby boy".
Just today Lilah started calling her beloved di-e, blanket. I have no idea where the word 'di-e' came from, I think it's probably a form of blankie. Anyway, way back when she wasn't long home she cried sore asking for di-e and I had no idea what it was she wanted. I figured she was just tired so I carried her to the crib and she grabbed her blue blanket from the side of the crib, put her little head on it and whimpered "di-e". Ever since that we've all called it di-e. After more than a year she suddenly turned to me this morning and said "It's my blanket, not my di-e!". I think I'll be the one having the tough time remembering to call it blanket. But one things for sure, Miss Lilah will be sure to remind me when I slip up!
Lilah also reminds me almost every day: "Nono did buy me that". Yep, it's very true, Nono & Papie bought her both her lovies!
