I mentioned a few posts back about Lilah love for reading. She makes little books herself, but she also loves reading books that I have previously read her. Like most children, she has a very keen memory and if she doesn't remember a certain part of the story, she just relies heavily on the pictures!
Anyway, I love that my sweet girl now reads *me* the stories, in her own words, of course! Olivia (the pig) has been her favourite book this past while and I must admit, I love hearing her interpretation of the story! I especially love the part in the story when she yells "TIME OUT!" and gives me a digusted look! Heh! She may or may not have seen and heard that happen before, in reality!
I captured a few pictures of her on Saturday morning, sitting reading stories. She is such an expressionate reader!
How wonderful! Just love seeing children enjoying books. ( Both Mark and I enjoy a good read and are encouraging Gracie too.) Gracie had her 2nd birthday on Saturday. When she was opening her pressies, she just sat amongst all the wrapping paper "reading" all her new books. It made this mummy grin from ear to ear! I love Lilahs latest hair trend :-) Ps Not long now to you travel home. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to get an avid reader out of one of my kids yet! I am thinking it will be Lilah… she does this too, spends hours "reading" her books out loud, and actually remembers most of the words too.
ReplyDeletejill--she is just adorable. one of the cutest girls everrr!! ps. i'm going to be a nanny for a family in the Glebe starting in January! A 1-year-old boy and a 4-year-old little girl in half-day kindergarten. I'm thinking we should meet up for a play-date!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo sweet!!!!!! Books are so wonderful and as Lily told me recently... books are magical. They take you to all sorts of places... She also loves Olivia.
ReplyDeleteThat Lilah is something else! Love these pictures and the very special memories they represent :)
ReplyDeleteShe is so adorably expressive. Kerry is trying to "read" to us lately, too.

My girls love Olivia too! It's so nice when they love to read. Love the pictures, as always.
