for unto you is born this day...

Just in case you are starting to worry that Christmas to us is all about 'Santa' and 'The Nutcracker'! That is very far from the truth, although, I must admit it is so easy to get caught up in all the fun.

Here is Lilah (last night) practising her verse for Sunday School today...

And this scene, of her cradling her little giraffey, who was wrapped up in her blanket, all ready for Church, is just so sweet! A few minutes before I took this picture, we were driving along and she said to me "Mama, he looks like the Lord Jesus!". It took me a few seconds to figure out what she meant, then I realized she was talking about the Christmas scene of Baby Jesus, swaddled in blankets. Adorable.

  1. She amazes me with her memorization! I am glad she is getting the real Christmas story... it seems to be the hardest one to teach them, when Santa is around them everywhere instead.

  2. I'm so happy to see she's getting the real meaning of Christmas. If I remember correctly, her first memory verse was "seek ye the lord"...and now look at how much she can memorize, very impressive.

  3. You're right Gin, her first memorized verse was "Seek ye the Lord". She learns verses for Sunday School on a weekly basis now, I really need to video her saying them all, because she does remember every one of them. I only wish my memory was as good!

She is SO proud when she learns them too! I think it's obvious in this video...with her huge grin at the end!

  5. That is so sweet! And amazing! What a great memory. Our kids learn their verses to music....so if you ask then to repeat a verse they sing it! Its actually quite cute and funny to listen to my 11 year old sing his verses in the shower :)
