I've been thinking a lot about the new year. I have so much to be thankful for.
So many blessings have been shown and given to me, by my Father, in not just the past year, but my whole life. About a month ago I came across this quote and it spoke to me in a big way... “Your children are the greatest gift God will give to you,
and their souls the heaviest responsibility He will place in your hands.
Take time with them, teach them to have faith in God.
Be a person in whom they can have faith.
When you are old, nothing else you've done will have mattered as much.”
~Lisa Wingate And today, while pondering the new year, the Lord laid these verses on my heart... Deuteronomy 6:5-9. They made me think,
what I want more than anything, in 2013, it is to grow in my faith and teach my children diligently, to have faith in God. This is my prayer for 2013.

I have no doubt that you and your husband will rear your children in God's love. You are such a sweet Christian family. What a blessing you are to those who have never even met you. In just reading your blog I can tell your daughters are very loved. Happy New Year and more blessings to come. I am praying that you are not done with the adoption road. ;o)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great goal for the new year!! Sometimes I get caught. Up in other things and forget that spending time with my children is my most important calling.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this!!

This is definitely something I want as well, which can be very difficult with the chaos that seven children can bring!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the verses... it is a great and powerful prayer.
