her little imagination

I think it's obvious which stickle brick items she used to play each of the three parts below:

1. She put the 'plug' into the socket. (Looks like a UK plug too!)
2. I was told to stand on the 'mat'.
3. And then she brushed my hair with the 'hairbrush'.

Her little imagination is wonderful! It makes me smile so much.

Let me also admit that it's making up for a lot of 'lovely' phrases I've been hearing in the past few days/weeks, like: "It's mine", which is usually backed up with, "It's not yours"!

Oh, and here's something else she told me last night at supper time: "That’s my knife. Don’t touch my knife. It’s a dangerous one."

Indeed, I bragged for far too long that my Lilah girl was good at sharing and not at all possessive. I'll just have to go and eat my words now!

  1. Ah ha! The process of learning to share, it is a long one! I love those toys, do they still make them?

  2. I love her imagination! It will be interesting to see how it grows as she does and where it takes her in the future (no hurry, though, right Mama)? And I laughed at her "dangerous knife" warning. Kerry would love those type of blocks, I'll have to look for some.

  3. Jill,

I love to see Lilah's imagination at work:-).

Thanks so much for sharing your story...helps me feel not so alone, or 'bad' for feeling what I do inside.

I can TOTALLY relate to your 'reaction'. Had a similar situation with a friend after we got home. She's a very outwardly affectionate person, and I know she didn't mean any ill intent, but she really went overboard with her affection toward Sophie whenever she saw her...literally scooping her up, holding and smothering her with kisses whenever we got together, and showered Sophie with gifts....you get the picture.

I knew I had to put a stop to everything, and have the 'dos and don'ts' conversation when Sophie saw her out the window walking toward our house and literally ran through me, out the door and jumped into her arms. NOT a good feeling. I blame myself for not putting an end to it sooner, but you live and learn, I guess.
