it's been two months...

she is amazing

Two months ago Lilah was placed in our arms. When I stop and think about everything she has come through, it just makes me so in awe of her. This week the instructor in her gymnastics class asked me about her. He was stunned when I told him Lilah just became part of our family almost 9 weeks ago, he looked around and said, so this is, like, all brand new to her? Yep, everything is new to her; almost every little experience she goes through is new or different. It's truly remarkable, how this little girl has adapted and changed, and fit into our family so perfectly. We acknowledge a higher power, our Father in Heaven, He has not only made this possible, but also perfect.

All the 'new things' in Lilah's life: new country, new house, new crib, new weather, new routines, new smells, new language, new foods, new toys, new loves, new sounds, new faces, new clothes, new friends, new experiences; gymnastics, playgroup, library, church, malls, doctors, grocery stores, the car, the plane, stroller rides, restaurants, animals, etc. This list could go on forever, she is incredible, and we can't imagine a second of our life without her!

  1. Good Evening from Miss Lila, in Atlanta.,

Your post tonight made me cry. It was beautifully written. I understand from reading about these adoptions that some don't do quite as well as Miss Lilah has done. When I would look at the many, many pictures, and read about the day to day experiences after first receiving the children,I would ask myself, "Why did they do that." or Why didn't they do that?" I realize it must be the hardest thing in the world to be in another country, and being in a hot room with many others anxiously awaiting your baby. But in looking over your story, I always felt you did what I thought I would do also. I think Miss Lilah is in the hands of some pretty special folks. You are so fortunate to have found her and she is fortunate to have you. She will find this out more and more as time goes on. But for now just love each other and be as happy as you possibly can. I have all the faith in the world in this family.

    God Bless You all,
    Miss Lila in Atlanta

  2. Aww... Lilah's little outfit is so cute.

  3. I am so glad that Lilah has adapted so well. It is amazing what our little ones go through. It certainly shapes who they become:) Blessings,

  4. Beautiful! And what an incredible testament to God's grace in all of your lives.

Oh...and is that dress from Rocker Baby on etsy? I love her stuff!

  5. She is thriving because you all are thriving which allows her to thrive even more so. What a beautiful amazing gift for everyone that all of you touch. So so rich, aren't we....?
