visiting the pumpkin patch

pumpkin patch 2013

Our annual pumpkin patch visit, is one of my very favourites.

I love Fall.
I love everything to do with the Fall: the weather, the food, the clothes, the colours.
It's perfect.

If there was somewhere in the world that had a constant Fall, I'd be living there!
Me, and the pumpkins and the hot apple cider and the delicious soups and stews and the light jackets and the stunning coloured leaves.

Our day at the pumpkin patch was wonderful...
the weather was so perfect and my girlies loved the hay ride, the baba spins in the wagon,
playing in the straw and picking out some pumpkins.

So much fun with our two little blessings.

the pumpkin farm

We visited Miller's Pumpkin Farm this day last week. (I know, I've been laging lately - I used to be pretty good at blogging, on time!)

Anyway, it was 25 degrees. I mean really, those kinda temperatures don't happen too often around here, in October. Colin had the day off work and shhhh, don't tell anyone, we kept Lilah home from school! Believe me, she was still "learning" at the pumpkin farm... and having fun too. A lot of fun!

On the walk over to the pumpkin field, Baba had his two girls in a wagon running them down a little hill. They were shrieking with laughter. This Baba sure knows how to entertain his little girls.

I love my husband and our little family. Since bringing our little Phebe pumpkin home from China, you know I've always felt incredibly blessed, but now I can't even find the words to express how I'm feeling. It is a overwhelming joy, love, thankfulness, all mixed up into a very blessed Mama. And I know my husband feels the same, recently he said to me: "Can it really be this good?" I think he was pinching himself at the same time!

: choosing a pumpkin : playing in the hay : taking care of little sister : throwing leaves : eating candy apples : wagon rides

All that fun at the farm. And we ended the day with a picnic and two sleeping girls!

Yes, I have been blessed, beyond words. Thank you Lord.

miller's pumpkin patch

miller's farm, pumpkin patch

What better fun activity for a holiday (Thanksgiving) Monday than to head off to the Pumpkin Patch. And that's exactly what we did - on Monday past - we drove a few miles out the road to Miller's Farm. I tell you, there's nothing more exciting in a 4 year old's mind than a trip to the pumpkin patch!

What made the little trip even more amazing, was the temperature! I think it was in the mid 20s. It was so perfectly gorgeous! The sun was shining and I think everyone else in the city had the same idea about going to the pumpkin patch!

There was lots of fun activities for the kids, so much to see and do. We took a tractor ride out to the pumpkin field and Lilah picked out a few pumpkins just about her size! And then us adults found a pumpkin that was half as big as her! We now have a porch full of pumpkins! Lilah had so much fun with the other children, climbing around and jumping off the bales of straw, playing forts inside them, looking at all the pretty coloured Chrysanthemums, checking out all the different types of pumpkins and gourds.

What a fun way to celebrate Thanksgiving Monday!

first trip to the pumpkin patch

I was definitely a lot more excited than Lilah about going to the Proulx Farm pumpkin patch today. Seriously, I've been wanting to go to one since we came to Canada, almost 10 years ago. It was lovely. The field where the pumpkins grow wasn't as cool as I had imagined it to be, but I don't think Lilah really cared too much about the field. She liked the bouncy castle the best. Unbelievable, I know!
