I'm pretty confident we live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
The bike paths, the trees, the flowers, the canal, the rivers. I remember our first trip here in October '99, it was a 5 day fact-finding/house-hunting visit and we were mesmerized by the beauty of this city.
I had those same first memories and wonderment last evening when Lilah and I went out biking along the Rideau Canal. The sun was slowly slipping away, there was just a slight coolness in the air with a little breeze. Miss Lilah had a cookie in one hand and her piggy in the other. And me, well, I had my camera and I was feeling pretty grateful, because I've been blessed in so many ways.
I would be tempted to live there! You actually have spring... but I mentioned this to my kids and they were pretty adament that we need to stay near the Rockies for skiing and hiking. So I guess, we will stay here!
ReplyDeleteThe Rockies. Well, they certainly look and sound amazing, there's no outdoing them, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteSpring will come to you too, soon I hope!

I have told Howard that if we had to move out east I would love to live in or near Ottawa....I've never been there but I love the picts, and I read a really neat article on boating down the rideau canal, oh and how amazing to skate on it!!! You are blessed to live there. Your pictures are beautiful!

I would love to move to Ottawa. My husband went to a paramedic conference last year in Ottawa and I tried to convince him to make a move. He loves the set up of the paramedic service there, but still it was a no go. Not that I don't love our town, but Ottawa is just so beautiful.
