The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the few Asian festivals held in our city. Three years ago, sitting with our social worker, we promised we would share as much Chinese culture with Lilah as we possibly could. And we love doing it - it's as much for us as it is for her.
Although I must admit, for now, Lilah's pretty much all about the ice-cream!

a princess named lilah
Well, it seems to me like Lilah read my blog post yesterday, you know the part that said I thought she was more a cowboys and indians girl. Well, maybe not so much. This afternoon she was upstairs playing in her room while I was cleaning up after lunch.
And then I heard her shout: "MAMA! I'M WEARING MY FANCY SHOES - TUM (COME) AND SEE ME!"
This is exactly what I found when I went upstairs...
and she made me wear the tiara princess headband - which wasn't so funny, seriously
then she asked me to take a 'family picture' of her and piggy, with piggy's mama & baba
all in the life of a princess named Lilah - thanks so much for the very cute headband Nono & Papie - [ more pictures here ]

a horsey named tyson
There's just one problem with Project 365 - I take a lot more photos than I used to, I mean A LOT more!
Yesterday Lilah donned her cowgirl hat and was running around our third level, between the bedrooms, riding her horsey. I'm sure it just thrills our neighbours as it makes a dreadful clatter on the wood floors when she is jumping up and down rambunctiously. We bought the horsey a couple of weeks ago at Dollarama, for $2 and she swiftly named it Tyson. Big shocker there right? Yes, her Pa's horse is called Tyson. She loves playing with it and I can see she's going to be a real 'Cowboys & Indians' girl!
Also, a special thanks to Tiffany for this Matilda Jane skirt! Our little cowgirl wears it well!

black and white wednesday, { three of her favourite things }
On Monday we went out for an evening stroll in the neighbourhood - it was so beautiful and relaxing. Here's Lilah, engaged in three of her favourite play activities...
Triking - She's been triking for over a week now and she can't get enough of it. Trying to run me over when I'm crouched down trying to get a picture of her, is her new favourite thing to do!
Spinning - When she's in the baby swing I twist it around and around and around and let it go. She loves it, in fact she loves all kinds of 'dizzy' games - the dizzier the better!
Sandcastles - She could spend hours and hours shoveling sand and filling up her bucket. She's in her element when she's playing with sand and she equally loves playing with water.

she'd eat blueberries till the cows come home
She could quite honestly eat blueberries all day long. She eat a quart between Saturday and Sunday. I bought 2 more quarts yesterday evening - one is already gone and I just washed the second quart this morning. She begged me for a few more while I took these pictures. You see that rash around her mouth, that is from too many blueberries. Oh well, it's kinda like the blueberries, it doesn't last long and she doesn't care in the least. Just give her the blueberries and nobody gets hurt!
Since she loves blueberries so much, I thought I'd check online for local places so we can go and pick them this summer. I eventually found this blueberry farm. It's a bit of a drive from where we live, but we'll make a day trip out of it, take a picnic and go sometime in August when it's blueberry season.
I'm pretty sure she would absolutely love that!

sunday school picnic
Today was our Sunday School picnic. Lilah has a bad dose of the cold and a hoarse voice to boot, I wasn't sure how long she'd hold up, but she did well. Baba helped her out in the games, taking on a few of her responsibilities! He was one of the 'team captains' and from my point of view, there was a fair bit of cheating going on... heh! Sounds like our Baba boy alright!
