I met a girl (Sarah) a few months ago when we were registering our daughters for after-school care. Our girls became fast friends and so did us Mums! We've been enjoying playdates and coffee/hot chocolate mornings together. Aiden & Lilah also spent the whole week of summer camp together.
Last week Sarah invited us up to her parents cottage, which is right beside the beautiful Ottawa River, about a 2-3 hour drive from Ottawa. So we were there together the last three days (Tuesday to Thursday), just us four girls hanging out having a wonderful time. We spent much of our time gorging on delicious food, including picnics on the beach, yum. And on Wednesday we went to The Blueberry Ranch and picked blueberries... definitely a post for another day!
I added some photos below of the two little girls enjoying each others company. They are similiar in so many ways and listening to them copy each other and want to wear exactly what the other was wearing, right down to their hair styles and head scarves, it was so sweet. Every picture makes me smile. I was noticing in one of the pictures that I took, that they even had the same little synchronized dance move going. They are just so adorable together! Oh, and I have to mention this too, both girls have the exact same lovey, the pink pig! Each of the pigs was bought for them for the same reason, because they were born in the (Chinese) year of the pig. Isn't that incredible?! And here's another one, Aiden was born March 29th and Lilah was born May 29th.
Lilah had big tears when we arrived home and pulled into our driveway. When I saw the tears and asked why she was upset, my thought was, she really needs a sister! She definitely enjoyed her time with her wonderful friend Aiden: sleeping with her, eating with her, running around naked with her, playing with her, dressing with her, even going to the bathroom with her, ha-ha! These two are definitely joined at the hip.
In another month they'll both be hanging out in Junior Kindergarten.

ReplyDeleteJust look at those cuties... what fun! They look like a couple of mini-tweens having all that fun together... LOVE IT! :)
ReplyDeleteKhloe could use a sister close in age, too. Oh my heart!! Are you in the process again by chance?...did I miss the big news?! Hope so!!
Loved the photos, as usual. I often forget to comment on here since I usually follow through FB. Have a nice weekend and God bless! <><

What a pair those two are!! Isn't it sweet to watch these little friendships develop? Looks like you had a great visit. The picture of the girls in swimsuits, floaties, and wellies just makes me smile.

I think Besties at this age are adorable!
ReplyDeleteSuch special friends! It's unbelievable how alike they sound and how alike they look in terms of their fashoin sense and mannerisms! It must have been so very sweet to see them together.
ReplyDeleteIt is always great to see your kids find a special friend... but watch out because now it never ends, the playdates, the phone calls, and the sleepovers!
