who you choose to be...

"Your story may not have such a happy beginning
but that doesn't make you who you are,
it's the rest of your story, who you choose to be."
[ Soothsayer - Kung Fu Panada 2 ]

  1. Hi Jill!

Your pictures are as beautiful as ever and so is that little Lilah Grace! Love her hair! Lily's is so thin--I have to keep it quite short.

Have fun on your camping experience. I would LOVE to try something like that one day!

  6. We saw that movie opening weekend (my kids are big fans) and this quote really resonated with me. It's exactly what I hope to instill in my kids: their ability to choose how they define themselves and their stories. I'm glad you posted this because it reminds me that I wanted to incorporate this quote into their memory books. Thanks for the reminder!

  7. We didn't see the Kung Fu Panda 1, but we did go to see Kung Fu Panda 2. I felt the violence was a little bit much for my 4 year old, she wasn't too scared but it's just something I prefer her not to see, however the adoption story was nice, I may even have cried at the end when Panda came back to see his Dad. Lilah was more worried about why Panda had a Daddy, but no Mommy! It certainly made for some interesting chats.

And I truly loved this quote, I love that it made me think... there are so many things in life that you can't help, you can't stop, you can't change...be it health or financial or employment or family, but there are things that you can do to shape the life you live...and that's what makes you who you are.

It's my prayer that my sweet girl keeps on being positive and learning that God will love her and be there for her, no matter what.
