autumn beauty

autumn beauty

About a week ago I saw these trees that made my jaw drop. The colours were incredible and I thought to myself, I'm going to bring Lilah back here some day and snap a few pictures of her.

So yesterday, we were driving home from playgroup and I really felt in a photo shoot mood. I asked Lilah if she was up for it and she was very excited - in fact, afterwards, on the drive home she thanked me about five times for taking her picture. Ahem, I may also have mentioned they were for our Christmas cards and included a form of (sweet) bribery. Maybe.

So anyway, I drove home (from playgroup), ran into the house, grabbed my camera, 55-250mm lens, a few snacks for Lilah and headed over to the University Campus. I was a little worried that we may have missed the colours. But we didn't. They were perfect.

Now to pick one. Oh dear.

  7. Oh. My. Gosh. Jill, these are breathtaking. The colours - the pinks like Paige, mentioned - are just a wonder. I've never seen anything like that. Your girl looks just perfect in this splendor. You have a very hard time ahead of you choosing just one photo for the Christmas card!

  9. Where do you shop for clothes for Lilah? She NEVER has on anything that's even "okay" - ALL of her clothes are darling!! Don't tell me some specialty shop in Canada :)

Of course, it doesn't take much for that beautiful girl of yours!

  14. Oh My, you are in trouble. How will you pick one?? This year might be a 'collage type card' kinda year huh? an um. is it rude to ask to be on your Christmas card list? 'cause even if it is rude, well I was just wondering . . .

I'm thinking of selling all my camera equipment, computer, editing programs and just copy you - you are amazing! 'course I still wouldn't have your creative genius :)

    I love these photos.

  17. Oh dear, how are you going to be able to pick just one!!! Such lovely shots. I try to take my girls out sometime mid-October for a little shoot every year. We haven't had the time yet and the weather has been a bit up and down but I'm still hopeful. I love how her outfit matches the leaves perfectly. She is such a pretty girl and the hat becomes her so well.
