reading stories

I mentioned a few posts back about Lilah love for reading. She makes little books herself, but she also loves reading books that I have previously read her. Like most children, she has a very keen memory and if she doesn't remember a certain part of the story, she just relies heavily on the pictures!

Anyway, I love that my sweet girl now reads *me* the stories, in her own words, of course! Olivia (the pig) has been her favourite book this past while and I must admit, I love hearing her interpretation of the story! I especially love the part in the story when she yells "TIME OUT!" and gives me a digusted look! Heh! She may or may not have seen and heard that happen before, in reality!

I captured a few pictures of her on Saturday morning, sitting reading stories. She is such an expressionate reader!

  1. How wonderful! Just love seeing children enjoying books. ( Both Mark and I enjoy a good read and are encouraging Gracie too.) Gracie had her 2nd birthday on Saturday. When she was opening her pressies, she just sat amongst all the wrapping paper "reading" all her new books. It made this mummy grin from ear to ear! I love Lilahs latest hair trend :-) Ps Not long now to you travel home. :-)

  2. I am hoping to get an avid reader out of one of my kids yet! I am thinking it will be Lilah… she does this too, spends hours "reading" her books out loud, and actually remembers most of the words too.
