a little 'school' project...

l is for lemon

Lilah and I were pretty excited to start a new little project today.

We're hoping to do a letter (handwriting) and also a colouring page each day, until kindergarten starts. You know, give or take a day or two. I've started a little binder for my girl and she was pretty excited to get going on this project, so we're off to a good start.

I found these basic handwriting pages online at handwritingforkids.com. There are alphabet pages, numbers pages, bible story pages and lots more - it's a great website. That being said, I'd be very open and eager to hear if you know of any other fun learning websites out there, for young children. To be perfectly honest, I didn't do a whole lot of research.

I also enjoy Jen's website/blog, she is fabulously creative and just recently started a post called 'Teach it! Thursdays', her ideas are very fun and educational.

  1. I love your blog, Lilah Grace is captivating and delightful! Your photography inspires me...hope one day to have a real camera. Which do you use?
    I am a Kindergarten teacher and would recommend www.starfall.com, www.abcya.com, www.tumblebooks.com, www.spellingcity.com. ENJOY!

  2. You might want to have Lilah practice her letters in different ways. Have her trace the letters on sand paper (very tactile), or in flour/colored sand. Construct letters out of playdough or using buttons to create the letters.

While learning to print letters using pencil and paper it is also important to make connections in other ways (and it will help to keep interest up if you switch it up!).

    Have fun!

  3. She is going to do great in school, those L's are looking pretty good! This is the nice thing about a girl... they sit and enjoy doing this... my boys would never sit that long!

I always enjoy a good dose of "Lilah Eye-Candy" when I stop in for a visit!! I seriously never tire of seeing your sweet girl. Oh how I wish you were closer... our girls would have such fun together!!

Love the link for these pages to print off... I'll have to come back and grab it once we get our home PC fixed and I'm up and running again. In the meantime, I'll just have to be satisfied with visiting through my hubby's work laptop when I can!!

    love and hugs,
